Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Fatal Road Accident

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities announced on late Wednesday. The fighter was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on Monday, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his team members.

Healing from Light Wounds

The sports star had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, his promoter had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the loss of his two close friends.”
