The relatives of young people lost after a tragic blaze at a venue in a Switzerland's ski resort are confronting an painful wait for official news and appealing for clues about their loved ones publicly.

The blaze ripped through the Le Constellation bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Swiss Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the small hours of New Year's Day. Circulated images show the ceiling igniting as bottles with sparklers are held aloft.

Officials have indicated that it could take days if not weeks to identify the victims of the tragedy, which resulted in the death of four dozen individuals and wounded another over a hundred. Desperate Searches for the Missing

The whereabouts of teenager from Switzerland Arthur Brodard, sixteen, are still unconfirmed, according to an public plea from his parent.

The resident of Lutry near Lausanne, explained to a local newspaper that she had gone back to Lausanne to check whether he was in the hospital, while his other parent did the equivalent search in the capital, but did not locate him.

"I'm living a nightmare, a horror. Either I find my son in the hospital mortuary, or I find him in critical condition. It's horrific," she stated.
